iHeartMedia & SiriusXM Merger Talks Reportedly Stall

RadioInsight has learned during the merger talks that one potential roadblock to a deal was what to do with the actual radio stations licenses with SiriusXM seeking to divest them

This is exactly what I was talking about in the original thread. This wasn't being done for Sirius to get into broadcasting. iHeart's streaming business is worth more than their broadcasting business. The entire goal for radio companies now is to create digital revenue streams that can help fund the station ownership. Take away those digital revenue streams, and you have a huge boat anchor that can't sustain itself. We can see that in companies that haven't invested in digital.
