iHeartRadio Launching in Mexico Following Pact With Grupo ACIR

Its Iheart Expanding its Audiences in Mexico

iHeartMedia announced an exclusive partnership with Mexican media company Grupo ACIR on Monday (Oct. 29) that will bring iHeartRadio to Mexico. The official launch of iHeartRadio Mexico will be Nov. 3 at the iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina, which features performances from Pitbull, Nicky Jam, Steve Aoki, Becky G and more.

As a result of the agreement, live broadcast and streaming stations, plus podcasts, across Mexico and the U.S. are now available on one platform throughout Mexico. Additionally, listeners will have access to iHeartMedia's roster of internationally recognized company-branded events.

"We are excited to expand our partnership with Grupo ACIR to launch iHeartRadio Mexico and now make iHeartRadio available across all of North America," said Darren Davis, president of iHeartRadio and iHeartMedia Networks Group. "To extend iHeartRadio's footprint across Mexico allows us to expand our brand and reach to even more listeners globally."

What was unusual was ACIR shutting off its Mexico City radio stations for hours on launch day to force listeners to use the new app...
