iHeartRadio music festival to stream on ALL Clear Channel stations

I just heard an announcement that the entire iHeart Radio Music Festival will be broadcast live on every single station owned by Clear Channel. I don't know if I'm a good judge, but I think it should be only streamed on stations with the Top 40/CHR format, since I think that's what this festival mostly is.

Shameless self promoting son's of gun. Its arrogant to think everyone cares about Iheart radio but then on the other hand its fantastic opportunity to show the shear reach of the Clear Channel platform. Its like driving past a wreck on the highway...you don't want to see what's there but your compelled to look.

I just checked with a CC PD friend, the iHeart show broadcast is only airing on 1 station in every CC market, not all stations and mostly on CC top40/CHR stations.

To follow up on CleanAudio's post:

The info you're looking for is contained in the last three paragraphs of the Clear Channel press release dated 9/19/2011 linked below:

The mistake that the original poster made was what they "thought" they heard versus what was "actually" said.

The audio of the concert/festival will be streamed on all Clear Channel station websites and over-the-air on Clear Channel radio stations in over 150 markets - no specific station lineup is given, but I would assume (as mentioned by CleanAudio) that at least one station in each of those markets would broadcast the event. As also surmised, likely it would be a CHR/Top 40, Rhythmic CHR, Hot/Modern Adult Contemporary, Adult Contemporary or R+B/Hip-Hop outlet that would carry the show.

Clear Channel radio station search page linked below:

It will be on one station in each market. Here in Milwaukee, for example, I hear promos on the CC-owned oldies station directing listeners to their sister station, 97.3 Radio Now (Top 40) to hear it. So no AM simulcast on News/Talk 1130.

I really don't care about the festival. I'm just waiting for them to update their Android phone app. IHR is a pretty decent streaming app.
