Insignia NS-C5112 HD Car Receiver w/ CD Player at Best Buy

It's getting to the point where people who want to complain about the "high prices of HD Radios" must completely ignore the facts ;) Yes, prices are "too high", if it's February or March of this year. Yes America has "the best health care in the world", too...if the year is 1977. In NOVEMBER of this year (and in 2007)? Not so much!

Again, a radio that would be a bargain without HD, becomes a steal with it.

I recently bought one of the Insignia HD car systems with CD for my 1971 Triumph TR6. I must say, it performs very well! The HD coverage at least on FM, blows me away! Not just the audio quality, (hard to tell being a convertible), but the HD coverage seemd to equal the analog carrier, even in high multipath zones. The only downside is it won't decode the HD2 or HD3 channels, only the HD1.

Really, $107.99 well at that price point Americans should be rushing into Best Buy to get their hands on HD. It might even be on the evening news as HD radio fans stand inline to get a new radio.

My Wal-Mart sells a similar radio and they just can’t seem to keep it in stock because demand is so high. My friend is a manager their so I get all the gossip first hand.

He says listeners are really impressed. Hundreds of new and exciting radio stations broadcasting in near CD quality with no subscription fees. It’s really great! I have an Ipod but I’m getting tired of it and I don’t have that many songs anyway. I tried satellite radio but it’s just
National programs and I missed my local stations. The DJ’s are funny entertaining and very informative too. I enjoy hearing the same songs over and over. And it’s nice knowing all radio stations sound similar. Including new HD stations. The monotony is very comforting

Do you think that radio would fit in my flying saucer? How do you think reception would be past Mars? I can’t wait to tell my friends about HD radio. Teens and kids love radio and they’ll think HD is just great.

Well then again another way to look at it (a little more realistically actually) is that a radio that is a bargain without HD becomes a piece of non-functioning junk with it.

Wow! Same thing around here, it's been so such phenomenally successful that we're lucky to find one or two anywhere, and even then they're not hooked up (dummy's maybe?) so that they can maybe actually keep one in stock for a while to show them off as they fly out of the stores so fast when they're working that they can't keep up with demand.
Also I've heard they have a new flying saucer version coming just for those little green men whom I've heard all want them. It's called the Flying Purple People Eater HD Mars Supercepter I. I've heard they're really out of this world!
