Is anyone else upset that 106.7 is sounding more and more like a Top 40 station?

Is it just me, or is 106.7 gradually moving closer to a Top 40 format? They don't play classic dance tunes like "One More Time" by Daft Punk or "Music Sounds Better With You" by Stardust anymore.

History is repeating itself because this is exactly what happened with 93.1 DRQ in the late '90s. :'(

Looking at WDTW's yes.com page, they're top 10 songs are ALL top 40 hits. Probably that's why they're ratings are in the toilet, probably even worse than when they were 106.7 The Fox. They're basically a 9-5-5 clone, but it seems like some Clear Channel rhythmic AC stations have many top 40 hits on their playlist.

I don't know about you guys, but I have some problem's with WDTW's signal. I live in Royal Oak, Ferndale and it's very weak compared to ther channels like 955 987 or 963 for example. Maybe that's the reason it's not doing well :(

The reason the signal is so weak in your location is because WDTW's antenna is on top of the Cadillac Tower in downtown Detroit whereas 105.9 Kiss FM's tower is at Greenfield and Ten Mile.

WMGC also has its tower close by near 8 Mile and Wyoming.

The seemingly weak reception is due to interference from one or both of those stations.

If you live a little bit farther east, WOMC is likely problematic, too. Their tower is on Woodward Heights (9 1/2 Mile), just west of I-75. They crank out 190,000 watts. I live four miles away from their tower, and I have blanketing issues on my clock radio from their massive signal.

The advent of HD Radio has only worked to increase the interference issues.

I think it's awesome! I've always been fascinated by Lisa Lisa, and it's great to hear Detroit's "Party Princess" on 106.7. Hopefully she'll be able to persuade the station's management to get back to more of the dance music they were playing when the station debuted in September.

I live in the Inkster/Dearborn Heights area and I have no trouble picking up 106.7 WDTW FM. 106.7 comes in very strong here in the east side of Inkster and Dearborn Heights area.
