Is Bonneville going to buy Clear Channel? Could they do it?

A poster on the San Diego board is asking that question? Any Answers? David have your heard anything?

Clear has already been sold, and going through the approval and regulatory process. Additionalloy, Clear has sold separately the TV stations and about 450 smaller market stations.

What I hear is that they are trying to purchase either Clear Channel Indianapolis or Clear Channel Denver. Hmmm

Why would they sell large markets? They have no need to (no grandfathering) and they want to be in the Top 100 markets.

Clear Channel eventually only wants to be in the Top 50 markets, but not in all of them. Only the markets that are making money hand over fist.

Indianapolis never got a "hey, were keeping you" letter, neither did Orlando. But I dont know if Bonneville wants to play in the sandbox. They seem much better suited in their mid and northern properties. Plus ofcourse SLC, but thats an obvious one :)
