Is "Boston This Morning" Format A Thing Of The Past?

A

Guest
Listened to Scott Allen Miller for the last few days and it seems the format set up by the previous PD "Boston This Morning" has become a thing of the past. Never heard Scotto refer to it and it seems the talk segments are no longer limited as they were in the restrictive format.

Also, heard a lot of carping from Howie Carr and John DePetro that the station is no longer streaming. Carr seemed particularly unhappy.

What's going on ?

New PD with a Karmazin strategy regarding streaming?

The WRKO board

Hi, welcome to RKO talk, where we talk about WRKO 24/7. Yes folks, it's the talk board about Talk Radio 68...

New PD is Jason Wolfe isn't it? Well I am glad to hear the new format may be gone. It drove me away from tuning in. Scott went thorough a rough patch in the beginning but was good in working out the bumps. I couldn't stand it because every guest he had was constantly interrupted with the format spots and reduced every issue almost into a commercial. No matter how big the issue was, you were lucky to get 5 lines in and one call. Then it's traffic, weather, news, commercial, new issue, rinse and repeat. It was awful. Scott is adept at shaking an issue around and it's really hard to make an issue stick or highlight it if you literally have 3 1/2 minutes from intro to goodbyes.

I will be dancing in the streets if JW gets rid of that crap in the morning, I haven't listened for months, the ridiculous format drove me and others I know away, far away, I did however listen just recently and caught some stuttering fool named Steve Baily, not sure what newspaper he's from, Globe maybe, but OMG, he was tripping over every word, sounded like a 4 year old learning how to read, I hope this absurd format is gone, and, I hope that the repeat nonsense on Saturday morning is gone along with that financial nonsense on Sunday morning and the drug rehab crap on Sunday afternoon. What a mess this station has become.

Indeed. We all enjoy hearing a bitter, fired, ex-WRKO employee complain about his former employers over and over again ad nauseum. It's entertaining.

Not when it jams and fills up the board, takes up bandwidth (because someone can't get a life), and crashes the database server taking all of radio-info.com down with him (which happened last night).

Oh yeah, real entertaining...

Be careful...some will accuse you of being a disgruntled former WRKO employee. You just can't have an opinion or worse yet express it here or you will be attacked.

Paul, you are a disgruntled former WRKO employee. And you can't have an opinion or express it here because you have been banned multiple times.

Take the hint already.

LOL! I don't give a bleep what anyone thinks! Sometimes the truth hurts and those that are spineless get offended, not my problem, let them attack away!

Re: The WRKO board

I feel your pain but this board is hopeless. It seems about one in twenty posts these days is actually about something other than WRKO. I wish they'd flip back to top 40!!

Re: The WRKO board

Simple Solution: You See WRKO in the Subject Line - Don't Read It.
The alternative: Post other topics.
This is an open forum.
Alan Shore just noticed a change in the morning format there and asked a question.

Does or did Alan Shore ever work in radio?

In fact WRKO isn't always in the subject line, which is the annoying thing. You come on here and keep talking about all this WRKO stuff like we give a crap anymore, and most of us don't.

Anyway, we have to sift though page after page of stuff to find things that don't pertain to Jay Severin and WTKK and WRKO all day long... That's why I say, go build a WRKO board, leave us all alone.

It's not open to people who have been banned, like you.

Re: The WRKO board

Does anyone really "work" in radio?
