Is Classic Hits 92.9 Sounded A Lot Better Than the Return of WCBS-FM?

As you may know WBPM "Classic Hits 92.9" is still carrying the same format that WCBS-FM needs to make a comeback to the Big Apple. I guess I'm 100% right, it would sounded a lot better than a possible return to CBS-FM this Thursday. They got some good stuff from the late 60's through the late 80's. Is that true?

The original format of WCBS FM was GOLDEN OLDIES (60s) -- That was MUCH BETTER than what they are going to now.......

Wouldn't this question make more sense if it were to be asked after Thursday... when WCBS-FM does returned and people had a chance to hear it?
How much lead paint did you eat as a kid? 100% of it? Is that true?

The signal of 92.9 is awful.

Thats cause it's a rinky dink 5k watter. The funniest thing about WBPM is that their PD has actually taken credit for creating a new format :D :D :D :D :D

the biggest problem with WBPM is the signal gets killed by WRRV 92.7 towards the south.

If you are in Newburgh, Peekskill or any other town in the lower Hudson Valley, WCBS-FM is going to be a classic hits station. Be patient. :)

What if I am in Brewster? Is WCBS going to remain Jack FM?

If you look in the New York market, CBS-FM will return tomorrow to do the same thing that WBPM is doing. If you are in Newburgh, Peekskill or any other town in the lower Hudson Valley, WCBS-FM is going to be a classic hits station. Be patient. :)

Only about a thousand times better! ;)

Classic hits is a broad spectrum, I'd be willing to bet that it will be executed better than 92.9 and Randy Turnip. Let's see how it compares to the new CBS-FM in music mix and repitition. 92.9 plays its share of stinkers...... ???

But remember, Turner invented the format ::)

CBS-FM should broadcast live from the Red Hook Pool on there first day. From What I hear theirs lots of 4 Year old kids just waiting to be interviewed! That would give CBS-FM an instant ratings boost that they so desperately need!

Turner invented the format...now thats a good one!! Like *** boy Al Gore invented the internet!!! Can't wait to see the spring book to see how 92.9 does...one other thing...how can Turnip boast that the station is an independent when it's owned by Pamal??? ???

I'll get back to this subject after 1:01 this afternoon.

Im not kidding.... one of my best friends works for Pummel (thats what he calls it, lol) and said that this guy Randy Turner goes around telling people that he "created" the WBPM format. My friend just shook his head laughing when he was telling me this story a few months ago. As a former programmer myself, I take all that stuff with a grain of salt.... i guess the inflated ego's come with the territory.

I live in Southern Westchester and get 101.1 perfectly clear.

Yeah thats rich...Turnip always was a windbag with an ego; saw him doing a remote at a restaurant in Pok once when he was with sleazy-x and he was visiting the tables introducing himself. Was hoping he would visit mine so I could ask him who he was, never heard of ya...that drives an egomaniac crazy...... His voice sounds like Bob Miller on helium anyway..... :)
