I was thinking about how bad a lot of our morning shows are...
89.3 - not my thing, but they have their following and are active in the community
92.5 - Charlie is great at pretty much spinning the tunes and having a pretty tasteful, music intensive show. Not a big fan of the music, but the morning show is decent.
93.3 - awful and tired....enough said.
93.7 - tired and doesn't seem relevant to the format anymore.
96.7 - do they have one?
98.1 - syndicated from Richmond? I think....no good.
98.9 - sounds small market.
100.5 - probably the best morning show in the market. E&B make a great pair.
101.1 - John Boy and Billy :
syndicated...
102.5 - neither here or there, but kind of boring
106.3 - tired IMO, but the station does well, so they must be doing something right.
107.3 - syndicated show that typically does well....Tom Joyner is popular.
We're the biggest market in the state, but IMO, outside of the country stations, the market really has nothing to offer in terms of morning shows. 93.3 and 93.7 need new shows or major changes to the current ones (93.3 needs more than a new morning show, but oh well). I would say 98.9 but I am almost scared of what they would come up with next. Seems to me that there are better choices in the other markets when it comes to AM drive, especially Charleston.
Thoughts?
