I still like the station but I know what you mean. Everyone listens to Real 92.3 now more than Power. As a longtime listener of Power 106, I still have faith in the station.

Is it just me or has KPWR started incorporating 90’s and Early 2000’s hip hop again?

Power 106 has gotten better recently now that they've re-added 90s/early 2000s throwbacks and does a party mix every Friday morning. I love Real 92.3 as well, but I'm slightly more loyal to Power 106 through thick and thin because that's the Hip-Hop station that resonates with what I grew up with. Plus, Rhythmic Top 40 has always been my favorite radio format, with Urban Contemporary a very close second and Rhythmic AC third.

I'm surprise Power 106 haven't brought back "We Run L.A." by Ya Boy & Dr. Hollywood. They played the heck out of that song in 2009-2010. Plus it's a local anthem.
It would be nice if they had brought back that song.
Power 106 played Bucketheads “The Bomb”(1995) and Nightcrawlers “Push the Feeling On”(1993) this morning back to back.

The last time I heard “This DJ” on Power 106 was in the 2000’s.
Power 106 sometimes do a house mini-mix in the mornings at around 6:30. I've heard "Take Over Control" by Afrojack and "Set U Free" by Planet Soul some weeks back.
2015 was the last time I heard Power 106 play "This DJ" back when they did their noon throwback mixes. However, they have been playing "Regulate" with him and Nate Dogg lately.
That’s the Power 106 that we fell in love with. I find myself listening to Power more lately since they started playing more throwbacks. Welcome back Power!!!

I grew up with the station in the early 2000s (which was when they emphasized West Coast hip-hop), so despite its ups and downs I will always be loyal to Power 106 for as long as it remains on the air.
Same here man. I wish they never took off “Powertools” because I used to enjoy that show.

@cer1992 Power 106 played “Slow Down” by Bobby Valentino yesterday in the 5pm hour. That’s an oh wow for me because I loved the song when it was current back in 2004-05. I also remember KKBT playing it in heavy rotation during the fall of 2004 before being released as a single in early 2005.
