The neutral audiences could have been switched to the 49ers game. Texas/Southern Cali would have stayed with the game but I'm sure most other folks wanted to see an exciting game...
The NFL has a rule they can switch to a more competitive game if there is a blowout (more than 18 points ahead). FOX has done it in the past. But since its their precious Dal-ASS they wouldn't.
Since the Kennedy Center Honors isn't live I guess it didn't matter, but even though Fox had a late game, so did CBS.

The lingering national appeal of the Cowboys' "brand" and the fact that the Niners were playing an opponent that had already been eliminated from the playoffs, while Cowboys-Rams mattered to both teams, their fans and, presumably, neutrals. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but how many of today's complainers were expecting a thrilling finish from the SF-Atlanta game before kickoff Sunday?

I know why I get confused. Some weeks when there is a home game, CBS has the late game and I don't notice anything.
The Bengals are in Miami, and Andrew Catalon and James Lofton are calling that game, and only 4% of the nation are seeing it: Cincinnati, Dayton, Ft Myers , Hazard, Lexington, Miami , W. Palm Beach. Smallest are to see a AFC game i guess.
Both of us should be use to late CBS games due to our teams (Carolina and Minnesota) mainly playing in the early FOX slot

I'm sure there have been games with that low distribution. But it goes on population of the DMA's. Denver at Detroit is being shown in pretty much all of Michigan and a fair amount of the Mountain time zone. But other than Detroit and Denver the areas have small towns its only 6%.

Interesting to note that in Houston, Texans at Buccaneers will air locally on KRIV (FOX) while the Texas at Providence CBB game is on KTXH. In Boston, Pats game is on WBZ, while the CBS College Basketball games(both at same venue)will air on WSBK.
If you're not in a home market, all three games air on the NFL Network. If you're in a home market (such as Houston or Boston) it's similar to any game normally aired on the NFL Network. But yes, Fox and CBS are mostly running college sports on Saturday.
Didn't see the NFL Network games. I was working. And even if I had the night off...we don't get NFL Network on expanded basic. Only on digital cable which I am unable to subscribe to. At my on-campus apartment they give you 80 channels of free cable. I don't think I'm allowed to hook up for digital cable.

NFL Network should of use it's own guys to call Games besides Warner maybe with Eisen with Warner and Rose and somebody other Game.
They are letting Fox produce the games for them. Why would they use NFL Network announcers?
Visiting in Lebanon, NH, yesterday. On Comcast, all three games were on NFL Network, and the Patriots game was also on WBZ-TV Boston. Even though Boston is some 120 miles from Lebanon, on New Hampshire's western border, I guess Lebanon still qualifies as an NFL home market for the Patriots..
