Is KGO-AM Nikki Medoro the same person that worked at KFBK Sacramento?

I just saw her Facebook page but it has the KFBK profile of her.
Is she the same person that now does the evening news with Peter Finch on 810?

Uh, what's the likelihood that two people would use that name?

Oh, I wouldn't be too sure. Back in the late 60s early 70s, every Bill Drake Boss Radio station had jocks named Johnny Mitchell, Bobby Tripp, Mark Elliot, Johnny Darin, and Nick Medoro.

I wonder if the current KGO news department will win any awards, ike the old one did?

(1) Most mispronunciations in a newscast
(2) Worst hand-off cue
(3) Largest number of wrong music beds in 5 minutes
(4) Biggest loss of advertisers ....

All that said, please give a listen to the KGO archives for the Friday 5:00pm hour as Brett and Chris have a comedian guesting on the show. It was GREAT radio!

One name I heard in more than one market was "Rick Shaw."

Well Theres been 2 Jack Armstrongs in San Francisco. The Late Jack Armstrong who was a DJ for KFRC SFO and KKHR in Los Angeles. And the Talk Radio host Jack Armstrong on KKSF 910, KSTE 6500 and KNEW 910.

But the point of my reply is that there's only going to be one Nikki Medoro, and obviously she's the one people know from elsewhere.

Didn't Metro use Vera Bruptley (as in veer abruptly) for female traffic reporters in MANY markets?

I don't remember "Vera,' but I do recall Elaine Change and Skid Marx...the latter having an unfortunate double-meaning outside of the traffic world.

"Diamond Lane" was heard on 104.9 in their alt-rock days.

And there's the famous/infamous Lisa Karr who did Nascar shows in the South (mainly Georgia and Alabama) for years. I believe she's also been a traffic reporter as well.

Yes, Nikki Medoro did indeed work at Newstalk 1530 KFBK in Sacramento for six years up until September 2011. She was a reporter and anchor and won two awards from the RTNDA for her series on human trafficking in the Sacramento region. Very talented reporter and anchor.

And who can ever forget the DJ airname Jeff Christie.....used for many years around the country by Rush Limbaugh before he became the hate monger of the airwaves starting at KFBK Sacramento.

Heard him bragging on air about his new $300,000 foreign car......the guy is so out of touch with reality....maybe his new fourth wife can help him.

Rush was only known as "Jeff Christie" while in Pittsburgh and Kansas City. As soon as he went to Sacremento at KFBK, he went by his given name.

Don't forget the ultra-cheapo Gordon Brown stations (WSAY/Syracuse and WNIA/Buffalo) that practically used the same house names "Tommy Thomas," "Jerry Jack," and "Mike Melody," regardless of whomever presided over the airshift.
