Is KRDC 1110 am los angeles shutting down on the 22nd?

VCY prefers FM signals, but if they are determined to enter LA, then it's possible they could purchase. If KRDC ever got an FM translator, only a tiny slice of LA metro could ever be covered, making an AM/FM combo useless Given the large Hispanic population of LA, a Spanish language operator would most likely be a new owner.

Lease it to Good Karma and keep the ESPN LA simulcast with 710 in place, obviously. All hail the path of least resistance.
That brings up the point of why Good Karma bought 710. It will be a miserable facility from the new location, and there is no reason to keep it unless it is for an ethnic format such as Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, etc.

Agreed, I don’t know why Good Karma bought the soon to be signal deficient signal of 710 AM compared to the superior KRDC. How about a polka format for the new 710? 😉

Disney has to watch out who they sell KRDC to though. If VCY gets KRDC they can end up in a dispute with Ed Stolz. Disney would need to reconsider other candidates if necessary.

While Crazy Ed paid his past due licensing fees, there are a number of other creditors who want money. The court appointed receiver/broker has a claim in for $500k and states there are almost 20 others who are owed money. Just Google Stolz' name and you'll find plenty of articles without a paywall.

$15m for signals in the Top 3 markets aint bad! GKB and ESPN need Los Angeles and 7~Ten has worked well for them, and will work well regardless of the new coverage. It would take a ton of $$ to move listeners to 11~Ten...if that's even possible.

Not that report specifically, and I can explain why. RBR is owned by the same people as RadioINK and they are very protective about their subscriber-only content. If the article did turn up on another site (not "sight", BTW ... the full term is "website") you can bet they'd be demanding it be taken down before anyone had a chance to post a link to it.

KRDC does have a translator ... K256CX, and you are right on the money in terms of its (lack of) coverage. For this joke of a signal, the usually-worthless map at Radio-Locator is sufficient:

They might be better off moving the listeners to stream online because 7~Ten’s new and deproved signal will probably force the issue. It’s not like an FM signal will just magically drop in Craig K’s lap (it did in West Palm Beach, but still).

Site, sight, website, picky, picky, picky.....

There's a lot on 99.1 in Los Angeles:
KBUU-LP (HD) Malibu
KBUU-LP-FM1 Malibu (near Pepperdine) (under construction)
KBUU-LP-FM2 Zuma Beach (under construction)
KWSV-LP Malibu
KWSV-LP-FM1 Chatsworth
KLBP-LP Long Beach
KTPC-LP Venice (time share with KLDB, etc.)
KLDB/KFEP/KZUT-LP Hollywood Hills (when they decide they want to operate) (time share with KTPC)
K256CX Pasadena

Low power stations can build boosters now?
Yes they can. The KWSV-LP booster was the first LPFM booster. I filed this one as a waiver request as part of a rule test and it look over a year, but then it was granted. I later moved to have the FCC codify rules to permit LPFMs to have boosters without the need for waiver requests. Those new rules were codified in MB Docket 19-193. Boosters are only effective for LPFMs that have larger than normal service contours in certain directions because of terrain.

Michi, I thought KWSV was licensed to and transmitting from Simi Valley.
