The Quincy dominatrix, Barbara Asher, on trial for murder of one her "clients" bares the same last name of the owner of Quincy radio statio WJDA { James D. Asher } does anyone know if she is related to the owner?

This sounds like a job for Howie Carr. If he did a show on the
Dominatrix it might be somewhat interesting.

This question came up on this board before...when the story first broke.

All I know is that I read a long time ago that the late James D. Asher, Sr., father of the present owner of WJDA (and WESX), James D. "Jay" Asher, Jr. had his roots in another state...Indiana maybe?, so most likely the WJDA Asher family is not related to the infamous Asher now in the news. James D. Asher, Sr. put WJDA on the air in 1947. People thought it crazy that he could carve out a "niche" audience with a station so close to Boston, but in it's heyday, WJDA (and WKOX (AM) in Framingham) were among the highest billing stations in the area.

The Asher family has been here for over 60 years and some still think of them as non-natives.
