Is somebody in Atlanta going to pick up Coast to Coast AM?

B

Guest
I enjoy the program and would like somebody pick in up since WGST dropped it.

Living outside of I-285, l've had to DX to get C2C. The strongest signals are 840/Louisville, 1100/Cleveland and 1510/Nashville. I believe 840 has the longest delay, so if you are listening on 1510, and the guest says something you missed (like the ACTUAL population of Mars), you can quickly tune to 840 and hear it again. ;)

Despite the show cleared on these blowtorches, Atlanta is still a top 10 market, so I'm sure CC would find an outlet for the show in this market. Hey, if WCFO grabbed Becko, they might also take Noory at some point...

i, too, love coast to coast am. i listened to it every morning on my way into work, but i didn't listen on GST because it didn't come in until i got to 285 on 400. instead, i downloaded the WOWO-AM app on my phone and streamed it.

If I have to stream c2c, I tend to prefer KFI in Los Angeles -- they play it back to back - live from 1-5 and then the first three hours again from 5-8.

where are you streaming them from? an app or what?

What station has a decent enough night signal to carry C2C AM in a credible fashion? If I were an advertiser I would call B.S. if they claimed clearance in #9 ATL on the basis of a fleapower daytimer signal.

WSB: out. WSB has no interest in this kind of show.
WGST: No podían hacerlo.
WGUN: fleapower
WCFO: fleapower
WDWD: We have to think about the chiiiiiiiiildren...although my daughter has gotten too old for Radio Disney...so expect their cume to be cut in half...but I digress....
WGKA: Plausible, but I don't think Salem would bite on such a heathen show.
WDUN: There's a possibility...

Generally use Iheartradio -- on both the Chumby and the phone.

WDUN: There's a possibility...

According to their website, C2C is already on WDUN - both AM/550 and FM/102.9 (Some parts of ATL could pick up 102.9 before the Hip Hop translator in Decatur signed on. Cumming is a virtual battleground at 102.9.).

And, yes, C2C is on full-power FM stations in some parts of the country. Don't rule that out in ATL (Heck, don't rule ANYTHING out in ATL.).

Also, WQXI doesn't HAVE to be sports 24/7 - especially with the Dave flip. If WCKY in Cincinnati can do religious overnights, WQXI can do its religion ;D overnights. Another contract = $$.

I forgot about Quixie being a possible news/talker, especially once 92.9 flips. Another possibility would be "men's radio" like the 9-5-0 in Houston. That would enable them to ease out of the sportstalk format without abandoning it completely. And they have enough of a night signal to be credible.

TuneIn App is good too...I have WDUN saved in my faves just for C2C. Can't honestly say that I've listened to C2C on regular radio since 2000

The problem with listening to C2C on WGST was that it was very difficult to get a decent signal at night north of say,Roswell

On that thought, where is Cigar Dave going to end up?

Dunno, I get WGUN great in Gwinnett. Best-sounding station on the AM dial.

At night? Coast to Coast AM is broadcast in the middle of the night. WGUN broadcasts with 78 (yes, that is 78 without any zeros) watts at night from a transmitter near I-20 and I-285 on the east side.

The stats:

http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/finder?call=wgun&x=0&y=0&sr=Y&s=C

Night coverage map:

http://radio-locator.com/cgi-bin/pat?call=WGUN&service=AM&status=L&hours=N

That red line for coverage at night is very optimistic. I would say about half of that coverage is reality.
