Is the Burlington future so bright..."I gotta wear shades"...?

Okay, what is Vox going to do with the CC cluster they just bought? Anyone have any intelligent, thought-out guesses?

I think they leave Star as is...can't fool around with that kind of billing. I bet they tinker with personalities/promotions on that station but music stays close to the same.

Champ...does the simulcast on 102.1 stay? Champ needs something. i think a younger rock sound and maybe look at replacing the morning show. Might be too old and tired.

The Zone. Give it some life. bring back Imus. Have a local shift on there somewhere. keep Don and Mike...dump Glen Beck and Rush. The weekends suck with all sports but what else can they do?UVM basketball is good.

True Oldies 92.1. besides making it a real Addison County radio station I think the Oldies fits the best of anything. Should be re-focused, moved and programmed to Addison County.

Your turn.

Apparently you don't, but we'll cover that below...

I'd like to see more local talent on that station, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that didn't happen.

Now I see why you started this thread. You just wanted to trash Corm and the Coach! You clever bastard!

Why would any station in B-P go "younger?" People under 25 are leaving the market in droves. What do you suggest would air on 102.1? Classic rock works there.

The Zone. Give it some life. bring back Imus. Have a local shift on there somewhere. keep Don and Mike...dump Glen Beck and Rush. The weekends suck with all sports but what else can they do? UVM basketball is good.

Wait...UVM is "good", but the weekends "suck with all sports." Do you think before you post? UVM men's basketball is Burlington's flagship sports team. I'd love to know how Goldman lost that contract.

They don't do promotions now?

Will...my my...aren't you the cynical and vicious one.

Champ is a shell of it's former self. It needs to be re-thought. And yes, when you re-think the station NOTHING is sacred including the morning show. And you already have WIZN with Classic Rock and now Kool with Classic Hits (lite Classic Rock). Seems that it's getting to be a pretty crowded field they are playing in.

As far as Men's basketball being the "Flagship sports team"...you are wrong. The real money at UVM and in advertising is the Men's hockey. Besides, Zone can air Men's B-B and have other compelling programming on the weekend. 1390 has ESPN. Fox sports radio is a wannabe.

So I agree with my namesake counterpart on alot of things. I am sure we both think that Will's opinions are....misguided at best. But otherwise just mostly wrong.

Looks like a nice interview / read coming on Tom Taylor's page with Ken Barlow.. I'm sure Vox will build nicely, on the good group that's already there in Colchester.. Like they say, "A rising tide lifts all boats"....

Thank you.

Rightfully so. B-P's an old market. The people demand gold-based radio stations.

Honestly? I'm not privy to anybody's sales figures, so I'll have to take your word for it. However, I will remind you that it's the basketball team, not the hockey team, that's had a higher profile in recent years. UVM's win over Syracuse is easily the most significant event in Burlington sports in the last 10 years.

Besides, Zone can air Men's B-B and have other compelling programming on the weekend. 1390 has ESPN. Fox sports radio is a wannabe.

What else are they going to air? Sporting News radio? Zone is (at this moment) owned by CC. They're going to carry Premiere's offering.

So I agree with my namesake counterpart on alot of things. I am sure we both think that Will's opinions are....misguided at best. But otherwise just mostly wrong.

Fair enough.
