Names like "Randy M" and "Jacor" are being dropped here like we actually know who they are! I feel like I just joined a broadcast already in progress, and am trying to find out what I missed!romer979fm said:it seems Signalid is speaking with Randy Michaels about moving WKOM or increasinig their power...or making an AM #1...Tibbs2 said:I dont seem to have the "facilities" to remember who the heck "Randy" is...can you refresh my limited memory Signalid?

Boy that was a long time ago.

I remember when WKDF was WKDA FM. THAT was a long time ago.
And Scott, don't take it personally, but I have to say it...David Carusso has to be the worst actor in the world. You should see Romer do him. Has it down to the starting a statment, pause, take off (or put on sunglasses) and finish the statement.
SwissVol said:Seems like it was that change in call latter came in the late fall of early 1976, maybe early 77. The first I heard of the change, I am almost certain that Ron Huntsman made the announcement, but I could be wrong about that. What I remember the most was Huntsman was coming out of the outro to Kasmir by Led Zeppelin and said something such as: "Kasmir by Led Zeppelin on 103 KDF. I'm still getting used to the new call letters". It was something such as this.
scottwmro said:Speaking of KDF, how are they doing in the Arbitron Ratings? I don't keep up with ratings, and haven't seen anybody post any ratings on this board on how the FM's in Nashville are doing. My opinion, WSIX sounds much better as a country station than KDF or 95.5. My wish would be KDF would go back to AOR, leave WSIX the way it is, and if Citadel wants a county station in this market, put it on 104.5, and get the sports off of it. Put the sports back on 106.7!
I'm not a sports fan at all, I watch no football games, basketball, etc. and listening to sports guys like George Plaster bores me to tears. On TV, Sunday Nights, on Channel 30, from 10-11 PM, it's the Andy Griffith Show. I'm a big Andy Griffith fan. Plaster has cut one-half hour off of the Andy Griffith Show for his Sports Show. TV Land is doing better about running more Andy Griffith Shows, but we can do without Rosanne!
Channel 30 WUXP-Sinclair, take Plaster OFF and put Andy Griffith back ON Sunday Nights!

Huntsman usually did afternoons as I recall. As for sports talk. Even though the worst signal in town or what seems to the the worst signal, I think Bill King and Joe Biddle do a great sports show on WNSR. Just my opinion.
I forgot all about Ron Huntsman. Is he still in this business after all these years?

Very alive and doing very well on music row. Probably because he got out of radio and only has to deal with artists and not 'know it all managers and corporate geniuses ' and others who now control radiio.
