Nah, nearly every conservative talk show host in America is taking that stance right now, local and syndicated. Hannity, Beck, and the rest of them. They all agree that Imus's comments were out of place and yet, they all seem to fear that his firing is somehow going to censor their viewpoints.
This is exactly why I would expect Imus to end up on Fox News in the morning eventually. He had to go, but conservatives love him. The seminar line seems to be thus: "Why Imus and and not Sharpton and Jackson? Their apologies were enough, why is Imus the scape goat? This is bad for other conservatives."
I think Imus was not liked at NBC or CBS behind the scenes and the "your fired" finger was itchy on the trigger.
