It's Been a Year Since the "New York Top 500 Countdown" Was Gone From WCBS-FM
I know for those of you who used to listened to WCBS-FM where they used to have the "New York Top 500 Countdown" back when it was an oldies station. I missed the countdown shows when it was on Thanksgiving day at 1:01 PM Thursday until Sunday. That brings back a lot of memories of listening to CBS-FM where they put out the Top 500 songs ever made. They counted down from #500 "California Sun" by the Rivieras" all the way to "in the Still of the Nite" by the Five Satins, which was the #1 oldie of all time on WCBS-FM's "New York Top 500 Countdown". I have all the songs from the "Top 500 Survey" on CD, but it's perfect for my iPod.
So the "Top 500 Countdown" was gone from WCBS-FM last year, long live with their iPods. Anybody remembered that special show on Thanksgiving where they used to countdown the top 500 songs of all time in New York City?
