Well, Clear Channel has decided to challenge the more established Spanish Radio Stations owned by Entravision, Amador Bustos,La Favorita and the LaRue Family here in the Central Valley cities of Modesto and Stockton. Will they succeed? Who knows? KSTN-FM 107.3 is the oldest longest running Spanish Language Radio Station since 1963(They signed on in 1962 with Classical Music but switched to Spanish the following year)They are known as "La Poderosa".The second oldest Spanish station is KCVR-1570 though they did not go Fulltime Spanish until 1988.They were originally a daytime only Religious and Country Music station until the early 1970's when they switched from Country to Ranchera Music though they kept the morning English Language Religious Programming.KMIX at 100.9 has been Spanish since 1996.KBBU-93.9 (ex-KEJC Country) is the newest Spanish station since Jan. 2004.Will Clear Channel succeed? Who Knows? Will there be a fallout? Will one of the existing Spanish stations go English? I don't know?
