Anytime you want a lesson on a car-giveaway, I'll be happy to open up the archives to show how to execute a promotion of this magnitude properly.. You should give kudus to your new crew at Z 97 for saving your ass on that G-5 promotion.

Maybe the ancient Cat Country or WEBK station vans could be offered up to the winners as an alternative prize if they are not GMAC approved..

Maybe figure out how you're actually going to give the car away??? Maybe put the winning key in an Easter Egg...hope the main sponsor doesn't pull out at the last minute...You and the Bear can have a drink afterwards...or during in the Bear's case...and blame everyone else for how lame the contest was.

One would think that when a car (be it lease or new) is given away as a signiture promotion for a radio station, one would think that the promotion would appear to be executed flawlessly. Listeners should be psyched to 'win' something like this. Our course this is "Mr. Marbles" first true attempt at a large scale promotion. Hard to think 'big' when you're 'small time'.
 
Here's an idea: Why don't all of you small-market minded individuals stop peeing in each others cornflakes? It's obvious you are all wanna-bee because nobody on this particular topic has anything worthy to contribute. Let's grow up and act like adults. (Yes, there are a few adults left in this business, believe it or not.) If you're going to make a contribution to this board, make it intelligent and worth everyone's time.

Frankly CURB, it's not a question of being a 'wanna-be'.. I don't 'wanna-be' anything more that what I am, and reasonably content with that. If I 'wanna be' commenting on this board, or opining about something that goes over the public airwaves that I find interesting to radiofans like myself then I certainly have that right. Market size has no impact on the issue at hand.

No live drops from the Fair? No clips of the winner screaming with joy? Afraid something might have gone wrong? I'll bet the Gilligan Crew is whiping their collective brow that all went ok...

Wow! Such haters! When you are all done poking each other in the eye, let us know. In the meantime, Z gave the car away, it was done well and the winner was thrilled (if you were listening to Z you would have heard it) now you can all go back to your rooms and find another reason to call each other names. Perhaps you all were taken to school on this one?
 
My dear Rocket...no hate :-*...just another big let-down from your employer....so let me guess...they plugged in some tape delayed drop of the winner? Why not go live with the final moments? Much like the taped phone calls your night guy runs EVERY NIGHT...be careful not to pull a muscle patting yourself on the back... ;)

One would think there would be something planned to coincide with the 'fall book' . There are some great minds at that station, just not Marbles..
 
Boys! Boys! Boys! Can't we all just get along?? I think the entire known universe realizes that Pamal runs the Rutland cluster without any regard for professionalism. I think everyone knows that the radio stations down there have an on-air presentation that is, at best, lackluster. I only know the reputation and past history of the major players in that market. The opinions of those who directly know/work for them are people I have a high regard for and most of them have a negative attitude about the General and Programming Management of those stations. The management team down there seems to always be in the position of defending themselves. Usually the reason for that is because they are doing a poor job and have an unhappy staff. If the truth hurts...sorry.
