Jason Bailey Former Atlanta Radio host joins 98 Rock Sacramento

Anyone else listen to this guy? They moved him from afternoon to mornings to fill the vacancy left from RAD. Not a bad show, actually quite listenable and some decent interviews. Seems they are broadcasting from the local Audacy studios, not out of market.

I listened to him for a couple years in the 2000’s when he was “Buckethead” in both Tampa and Orlando. He’s a good fit for an active rock station. Better than That Damn Show, IMHO. Back in FL he was on 98Rock Tampa and WJRR in Orlando.

Not knowing any details about recent changes over there, it just seems like 98 Rock keeps shooting themselves in the foot. Maybe there are valid reasons for all the chaos there lately, but the outside perception is not great

Definitely not a great outside perception, but it’s pretty straightforward if you read a bit on Reddit (always a 100% accurate source of news):

RAD: contract negotiations failed
That Damn Show: Low ratings
Pat Martin: Probably should’ve gone to the Eagle 5 years prior.
BS: A combo of lackluster performance and internal squabbles.

What you’re left with is a rudderless ship, and a parent company going through belt-tightening. Almost no chance of picking up RAD again (unless the price was right). Any morning drive show will be costing them far less to run. Wouldn’t surprise me to see the AM/PM drive shows piped in from sister station KISW.
