jason place out at WXXK...Traci and the Morning Kickstart IN

Got confirmation over the weekend from a friend of Shapiros that he decided not to move forward with JP but is keeping Traci on the air as lead host on KIXX 100.5. It's a shame since J and T were a staple in the valley but in all honesty they were a bit stale. Seems JP is out of his prime. But I did get a chance to listen this morning and heard new (weak) imaging for the "morning kickstart". Sidekick is Paul (no last name...) While the imaging was a bit lame, they were pretty good. I guess Paul used to be J and T's stunt boy? He sounds a bit green, but they play off eachother well. T was funny and personable and Paul was a good laughtrack with a dab of personality. I think they'll be well received in the valley.

Congrats to Traci. She is getting some well deserved recognition. She's always been funny but overshadowed by Jason and his need to try and have all of the attention focused on him. Toward the end though he didn't seem to put any effort into the show. Maybe he knew he was on his way out. Traci was the saving grace the last month or two. I think she sounds great with Paul. (who I found out is the owner of the Eyeglass Outlet). Weird choice for a co-host but it seems to work. The energy and humor is right on. If they keep the local referencing at a high I think they'll clean house in the next book.

OK, who made the kool-aid and past it around?

I happened to listen this morning and certainly did not find them as entertaining as the previous posters. Jason WAS the morning show, and while TRACI does deserve her walk in the park, it IS NOT SAME SHOW that the Upper Valley is used to waking up to on that dial position.

Change can be good....give them time to work out the bugs....its an entirely new show. I would love to see a show sound PERFECT right out of the box....just because it isnt the same ol people in the upper valley....doesnt mean it will not be any good or better. Sometimes, things need a 'shot in the arm'.....seems like a transfusion in the upper valley these days.

and did anyone else notice the simulcast of KIXX was not on 93.5-WTSM in Springfield. Just dead-air. . .not even a carrier.

That’s too bad. Jason is a very funny guy. He used to be the Snow Country ski reporter on the old Manno and Condon Show on WKDR. Early on we sensed that the Snow Country gig was totally mercenary and he couldn’t care less about skiing conditions. We use to relentlessly bust on him and he would always get his back up. I guess you had to be there… but trust me …it was good radio.

Jason is a funny and talented guy with great pipes, I know he will land on his feet.

Very True Louie my boy!! wink-wink!! Jason is a very funny and talented guy with great pipes! The valley's gonna miss him! :'( The boyz and I used to listen to him all the time up here on the farm in Sharon! He and Traci were great together! My big girlfriend at cc and I are gonna miss those two crazy kids!
