If anyone can turn WRKO around it seems it is Jason Wolfe who put WEEI Sport Radio on the map and on the top of the charts.
Quite a good feature article on Wolfe in today's Boston Globe by Irene Sege "Talk of The Town" on Jason Wolfe.
It is said, that recognition of a problem is the first step to solving it. As a local person, Lexington native and now Canton, Wolfe seems to have a sense of what drives the Boston radio market. WRKO was once THE talk radio station in this city but various managers and owners let all of that slip away over the past 20 years. It its primacy WRKO had a continuity throughout the day as it built its audience. First Jerry Williams to David Brudnoy and then Gene Burns to Jerry Williams. It was a frontline talk station which others followed.
I am sure it can be done again and it seems Jason Wolfe has the fire in the belly to make WRKO a frontline talk station again.
