Jeff Katz to anchor Herald Radio (on air Aug 5th)

The countdown has begun for 6 a.m. next Monday, Aug. 5, when Boston Herald Radio goes live.

Veteran talk show host Jeff Katz will launch a morning drive news talk show that will lead into 12 hours of live broadcasting each weekday.
There will be four shows in all, including “Live from the Newsroom with Jeff Katz,” “Morning Meeting with Jaclyn Cashman and Hillary Chabot,” “The Michael Graham Show” and “Sports Town with Jon 
Meterparel and Jen Royle.”

Well notice that Herald Radio goes sports at 3 PM - Now will Howie plug Herald Radio on WRKO?

How is this going to work? Is Katz going to rip and read from the paper? Will he take calls?

Henry Santoro has a nice mix on his AM show on BDC... scheduled experts appearing each day, etc.

Rip and read from a laptop maybe...from Herald, other sites. Calls, maybe...so BHR picks up Graham feed of his show which I assume continues on 4 or 5 stations (and I'm sure he'll plug BHR).
Like Katz myself.
Enjoyed working w Henry as FNX intern 1983-84.

Sports competes against the shows on EEI, Sports Hub, and UFC (Sheppard)

A line up chock full of has-beens (Graham, Katz), never-weres (Meterperel), never-will-bees (the astoundingly untalented Royle) and the terminally lazy (Chabot)

Please tell me these people are not receiving actual cash money to play internet radio, the 21st century successor to carrier current.

I'm listening, or I should say trying to listen, to the debut of Boston Herald Radio. I know it's the first day but it keeps dropping out. Not sure if it is on my end or are others having problems, too?

Was listening earlier on comp and it mostly stayed on with occasional drops (Howie's cell phone was brutal). Whether you're listening on your home comp (or at work), smartphone, netbook whatever it may depend on your own connection and Net traffic etc
