Jeff Prescott and Bill Oxley... Go to Night Court?

Hey, I was watching an old episode of the 80's comedy "Night Court" on TV Land last night, and the there was story line where an Actor named "Jeff Prescott" refuses to remove his Red Ranger uniform, as ordered by the owner of the character who's name was "Bill Oxley."

I thought it was funny that both of these were the names of prominant San Diego radio personalities. I bet it was more than a coincidence. Has anyone else ever noticed this? I know that "Jeff and Jer" were once referenced in an episode of Frasier. Thoughts?

Jeff was a self-described "Hollywood brat" who had lots of family friends in the TV business in LA, but I'll bet that was the work of Ken Levine, a successful Hollywood TV writer, producer, etc. He was a producer of Night Court, among other things. He also had a long career in radio as "Beaver Cleaver" and worked at a couple of San Diego stations, including an early 70's stint at KSEA. I believe Ken and Jeff were both there in 1974.

By the way, check out the new interview with Prescott at http://www.sandiegomag.com/issues/october05/dialogue1005.asp
