Jennifer Hudson Pitching New Talk Show With Warner Bros. to Launch After ‘Ellen’ Ends Its Run

Oscar winner and “American Idol” alum Jennifer Hudson is adding something completely different to her resume: Talk show host.

Hudson, most recently seen on the big screen playing Aretha Franklin in “Respect,” is pitching a new daytime talker to be produced by the team from “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” Variety has learned. Although not technically an “Ellen” replacement — her show wouldn’t be a continuation of the “Ellen” deals and is being shopped as an entirely new series — it would be positioned as Warner Bros. TV’s new flagship daytime talk show now that “Ellen” is ending its run.

This is being proposed for now but if this is true this is a second former American Idol star to get a talk show deal after Kelly Clarkson.

I think Fox O&O's would take Jennifer Hudson's talker just my opinion I don't see NBC taking it as they want their own shows in the timeslot before Kelly Clarkson which is taking over Ellen's timeslot at 3PM next fall. Who would take Jennifer Hudson's talker if it is a go next fall I wonder if Wood TV will air a 4PM Newscast to complete with Fox17 4PM Newscast. Not many places where Jennifer Hudson could go I guess WZZM in the mornings at 9AM or 10AM, Fox17 would be good for 12PM get rid of The List put that on late-night just my opinion, CW7 & WXSP could be options as well.

I thought Kelly Clarkson was replacing Ellen on the NBC O&Os and many other stations come next fall? But good luck to Hudson if this works out!
I am guessing "team" = Twitch and Andy Lassner?
