'Jeopardy' host Alex Trebek reveals he has Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer

I've noticed in the tournament of champions this week that all the players are wearing purple ribbons for pancreatic cancer research for Alex. It may have been happening earlier but this is the first time I had noticed it.

And James Holzhauer is back in the Tournament and won big again in his first round.

Actually, Alex said that the ribbons were for a contestant who was a participant in one of their special tournaments who died of pancreatic cancer.

That's what he has too, right? Nice of him not to mention that. It would have been fine if he had but he wasn't going to make it about him.

And he's in the finals, playing once again with the woman who beat him.

Yesterday's game was pre-empted on WBBJ in Jackson, TN because of the impeachment hearings, although it made it on WREG in Memphis. I just hope that tomprrow's game doesn't get pre-empted on both.

Apparently there was a break in the hearings and WBBJ managed to get Jeopardy in, but they have started back so we have yet to see if it will be on WREG. I won't mention who won the tournament yet for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Love Jeopardy .Thank goodness Jeopardy airs here at 7PM EST. Unless these hearings run into the prime-time access time slot .

My prayers go out to Alex in what he is going through.......

Blending the world of network and syndicated programs, Jeopardy will return to ABC primetime in January for a unique Ken/Brad/James tournament. (Each night is two games, with the top scorer of the set of two winning the match; first to three match victories wins the tournament).

It does tend to be something of a dead zone with plentiful reruns or other filler around then. Waiting a few weeks until the regular scripted shows are back with originals.

So you figure this fills a minimum of three slots, maybe a few more if it’s a real battle. Max would be seven if I do my math right.

And will Alex be able to host?

Last night during the final commercial break he talked about an organization working to cure pancreatic cancer.

It taped next month, which isn’t that far off. Clearly the expectation is Trebek will host. There’s no indication otherwise.

And if things take a turn, they’ll adjust. It’s not like anyone there isn’t intimately familiar with exactly what’s going on.
