Jeopardy! To replay GOAT, best of Jennings

Wonder if they will air in early September during the last couple weeks before S38 premieres. And that's if Wheel is able to start taping in July/August for S38!

And I think there's a small chance that Wheel and/or Jeopardy could be cancelled after the current season ends.

Jeopardy, maybe, depending on Alex Trebek's health and whether or not they could find a suitable replacement for him, if it comes to that. But why would Wheel get cancelled, other than Covid-19 studio restrictions? But if that's the case, other shows with live audiences would be affected as well.

Jeopardy! could go on with a new host, and it's highly likely we will be seeing that in the next 1-3 years. There's probably several TV news journalists that could replace Alex, and keep the 'smart' factor in the show.
Wheel is a different story. Mike Richards replaced Harry Friedman effective this coming season (S-38). I think Pat & Vanna stay on whenever tapings can resume. Mike will probably tweak the format a little bit based off his previous experience at Price when he replaced Roger. I think we start seeing more puzzles that reflect a young(er) audience, and possibly bonus round changes to get new or ex-viewers (back) in. Maybe we start seeing $75,000 envelopes on the Wheel, or the million dollar bonus round gets changed. But who knows, I'm speculating.

There is no way either show is getting cancelled, not even Jeopardy! even if Alex won't be there when things pick back up. If Jeopardy! ever did get cancelled, it would need to get a big send-off akin to Oprah. It's way too popular for them to just go ahead and pull the plug with no warning. Same for Wheel, but given that Jeopardy! is the more successful of the two nowadays, not going to happen.

Speaking of which, I find it sad that while Jeopardy! is using May sweeps to air reruns of its most notable episodes, Wheel is just running not only random episodes, but replacing episodes with big wins with other random episodes that are less notable (e.g. for the week of episodes that aired this past week, Tuesday's episode originally had a Bonus Round win, but it was replaced this time with a random team episode from a different week that had a loss, an episode that already reran on the Saturday run in March, no less). Even if they don't want to go through the trouble of dubbing out the older music, there's a lot of stuff they could scope out from after the music changed, although admittedly not as much as if they were to dig deeper.

They will. Vanna did a Zoom chat with a group of fans last month and said that they were just waiting patiently to find out when they could start filming again, and if they did, they would film new episodes for the summer instead of reruns like they usually air during the summer. Of course, that very likely is not going to happen now. But there will definitely not be a host change for Wheel when they resume.

Sony already has to deal with the very real prospect of not having Alex much longer (in the grand scheme of things-the show has been on 35+ years; I'm not talking "tomorrow" here). While Pat and Vanna are no spring chickens, they are under contract, and while contracts have ways of being dealt with, don't expect both shows to be upended simultaneously.

There is zero chance Jeopardy gets cancelled now. None. Whether Alex is able to return and tape new shows whenever the time comes remains to be seen. And taking his words at face value, he's not looking for an Oprah-esque farewell tour of a season. But one way or another, they're going to continue on with a new host and see how that goes. There is way, way too much money at stake to do otherwise.

Pat and Vanna may not re-up (their choice or not, who knows) for another hitch after the current deal expires, but with all other factors in mind, there's only a slightly more than zero chance of them not returning for anything other than health reasons.
