And yet the rounds all end with five or six answers still on the board. Why?
 
Randy West is a former announcer, he did 'Supermarket Sweep' at PAX and guest announced for Price after Rod Roddy died.
Thought I heard somewhere they were likely gunning for audience-less shows...
Albeit I wonder if contestants/hosts will be masked as well. Surely with Alex at 80 and still dealing with aftermaths from cancer, COVID wouldn't help his situation at all.
 
I've been in those studios and they are huge, both in square footage and the height of the ceilings. They are old school Hollywood sound stages.
Social distancing for the hosts is easy. They could do plexi-glass between the contestants. And no audience. They sweeten with crowd noise anyway.
 
I'm curious about audience reactions in the second episode, which aired earlier this week. Back then apparently the audience reactions was stronger, and it's too unrealistic to think they did this on their own without some fake audience reaction being added.

One thing I've noticed is that Alex had more commentary during the gameplay. I guess after 36 years they found ways to speed up the pace, including there being less applause.

One thing I noticed today when Frank Spangenberg became the biggest winner to that point in time that Alex said that he had to donate anything over $75,000 to charity. I had forgotten about that rule, but when did it end?

Essentially no one tripped the rule, so it would be easy to forget. The Game Shows wikia page suggests 19 5-time champs might have tripped the limit between 1989 and 2003 when the 5-time champ limit was repealed, and 3 of those were contestants on season 19, after they doubled the cash values.

I can't find anything definitive, but it looks like the rule was probably removed after season 18 or season 19.

EXCLUSIVE: Two of America’s longest-running game shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! are heading back to the studio.

Both shows were hit by the COVID-19 production shutdown, but Deadline understands that both syndicated shows, which come from Sony Pictures Television and CBS Television Distribution, are set to start filming this week and next.

There will, however, be a few adjustments.

In Wheel of Fortune, Deadline understands that the wheel has been redesigned to provide proper social distancing between contestants.

Over on Jeopardy!, the stage has been slightly redesigned to allow for more space between the three contestant podiums. The contestants will also be at a safe distance from host Alex Trebek at his lectern.

Sounds good. Good luck to Pat, Vanna and Alex. I would guess Alex will be wearing a mask due to his health issues.

I was watching a movie and a contestant came back for the third week, long before anyone was allowed to stay for more than 5 days.

If they're going to air actual episodes of the show as part of a movie, they need to get things right.
