Jimbo Wood becomes PD and Afternoon Drive jock for Star 99.1

Jimbo Wood, who spent many years in Birmingham radio is back in Huntsville as the Program Director and Afternoon Drive jock for WAHR Star 99.1. Today was his first day on-air in Huntsville after a two year absence. He was PD for Rocket 95.1 for about 7 years before leaving to take a gig in Birmingham at 105.5 The Vulcan.

huntsville is lucky-- i looooove jimbo wood-- he was one of the reasons i wanted to do radio back in 1985 when i first heard him--

in fact-- i used to do an impersonation of him that was so spot on-- SOMETIMES I WOULD SIT IN TEH STUDIO WITH HIM ( AT ROCK 99 ) AND I'D DO A BREAK AS HIM-- AND EVEN MARK ST. JOHN WHO WAS LISTENING-- HAD NO IDEA IT WAS ME--

TOO BAD I COULDNT MAKE A LIVING OFF IMITATING JIMBO WOOD!!

LOL-- best of luck jimbo--- u r the MAN!!!

I find it odd that I liked Rocket a lot more when Jimbo was PD there, however I disliked how Vulcan was later on.

Anyway, it's good to know that Jimbo is still on the air. I was wondering where he would end up at after Vulcan, but going back to Huntsville was the last place I expect him to be at.

From a former Rocket listener, I wish him well at Star 99.1.

Jimbo will we a great fit for Star! I think the Rocket has gotten better since Jimbo left. And I think Jimbo did a great job with the Rocket. Who is the PD for Rocket?

Last time I checked, Rocket's PD is Clay Sanders or "Freak Daddy" as he is known as during the afternoon shift. I assume he's still there but it's been months since I last listen to The Rocket.
