Pensacola/Fort Walton Jimmy Whitaker, owner of WJSB/ WAAZ in Crestview has died

A well respected man in the industry. One whom I never had the chance to meet but considered a broadcasting role model. Seems like I read on the stations Facebook page awhile back that he built WJSB at age 19, back in 1954. I was in Crestview two weeks ago and wished I would have stopped by the station. I hope Crestview Broadcasting will continue as a local operation. May he rest in peace!

good evening from crestview broadcasting the radio station will not shutdown his legacy will continue on the doors will 100 percent remain open i am the egineer and sports guy for the station and his funeral is at first baptist church crestview viewing is at 3pm funeral is at 4pm on tuesday august 13 we are sadden at his lost but he is still in are hearts and we will push forward cause that would be what he wants
