Joanne Rogers, Widow Of Fred Rogers, Dies At Age 92

Together forever in heaven. Joanne was a pianist and also graduated from Rollins College like Fred. May she RIP.

I always liked her. She was a classy lady and usually said what she was truly thinking when doing interviews. When a host would ask her about Fred Rogers doing some groundbreaking stuff on his show way back when, such as the time he washed the feet of a black man (who also happened to be gay) in a baby pool during a time of civil tension just a year after MLK was killed, then also shared his towel with him at a time when pools in many cities were still segregated, Joanne Rogers was almost surprised by the question and kind of had a "Sure, why wouldn't he??" kind of response.

She also didn't have a high opinion of our outgoing President, nor did she appear to care about the possible ramifications of saying so.
