Job opening for Sports on CityNews Toronto?

Kathryn Humphres is leaving CityNews Toronto.
What's up with that?

Also...who left the Weater department?

Last Thursday ( Nov. 8 ) a new weatherman was introduced for Citynews at noon as Citynews Toronto welcomes Chris Potter to the newsteam.

One thing I'm wondering is now that Rogers owns CITY, Harold Hosein could turn up there again since he's still with 680 News, so I'm told.

I always liked Harold, was sorry to see him go. But I really like Michael Kuss and wouldn't want him to go away. The one I really miss is Sonya Singh on Global. I don't know if she really knew that much about the weather, but I enjoyed watching her. ;D

Of course, Dave Devall on CTV is THE weather authority in Toronto. :)

I remember Sonya from when she was still in Ottawa, very attractive girl, she actually does have a meteorology degree. I saw her once in person, when she worked at A-channel Ottawa, they always had her do the weather reports from outside. ¿Where did she go to?

I believe she is working for CBS in Los Angeles, doing entertainment reports.

Speaking of A channel, I think that's being rebranded...but that's another thread...and I need some facts to back it up before posting anything about that. ;D

Is Kathryn Humphries actually leaving? She's back on again after a 3-week break.

More like...job opening for National VP of news programming...

Yeah, wasn't that strange?

Here's what happend:

Her contract was up for renewal for Citynews (Toronto) sports.

The National VP of news programming made a decision that left Kathryn saying good bye.
Then that same person was shown the door...and Kathryn was rehired.

*BUT* keep on mind, she was *not* (re)hired as just a Citynews Sports person.

Instead, it is prefered that she be known as a "Member of the Rogers family." as she will now be heard on Toronto's Fan 590 (a rogers owned station) as well as sister tv station Sportsnet.

It *could* be that she may not have been happy with the original contract renewal that was tossed her way...then she was offered something better through whoever at Rogers instead...

Some of the comments on the blog about Kathryn having been let go awhile back are pretty telling of the bleek situation CITY was in. And that's not the first time I've heard that CHCH News has more viewers in Toronto than CityNews.

If this is true, it'll be very interesting to see how Rogers lays the cards down.

Are the facts based on viewing of a *full* newscast, or select reasons for tuning in at specific times?

I may be wrong, but I think the most recent change was a trading of places where weather and entertainment air on the late night newscast.
