John and Vic pioneers of radio !!! wa wa wa waaaaa !!!

What do you do when your ideas have failed, your now going to investors with excuses on why it "Whasnt your fault" and there is no hope in sight after a terrible summer for revenue (not for other companies just the one JC is "Fixing") ? Well you start building jukeboxes on your signals. Just when I thought these dopes couldnt surprise me with thier lack of radio experience they somehow did. Their latest plan to fluff numbers has come at the expense of another radio announcer. Soon 103.7 and 98(point) 3 will no longer have live jocks. With the streak of "SORRY WE NO LONGER NEED YOUR SERVICES" their is nothing more than a skeleton crew working for Atlantic Broadasting / JVC Broadcasting. This should make the number looks much more profitable for the real people losing here...the investors. Northwood Group has stood by watching JC ruin what at one time was a respectable place to work. Why because they dont a clue either. Its a little more complicated than a Pizza Hut. Atlantic Broadcasting attracted advertisers (say what you will JC your plan of sending phone books home doesnt seemed like its paying off) local sales people that believed in the product they were selling oh and was building relationships locally. Now it looks like a closed up building that im embarrassed to look at. Maybe its time to cut the puppet free and send him back to Ohio, the sales manager that get lost in the building and the brain washer JC with nothing more than a few under performing stations of his own. While hard working radio jocks are let go the laughing, online betting and staring into space for an answer continue. Whats next can I expect an old jingle package on 98 POINT 3 KOOL. KOOOOOOOL 98 pooooint 3 !!! Tick Tick Tick

Thats Just "What I Heard"

Well, I'm sorry this happened to you, JoJo.  Even is a sadder issue that Scotty couldn't help you get on board with Wild.

I guess they figure they'll have syndication rights or something, but if she's going to go for something like that, don't you think she'd go with an LA or satellite station? Or, have her agent fish out the best deal all around?

Although, I guess that's why they had to save the $15,000 from Dave and Jerry...saving their pennies for the big LL offer!

Sorry Dave and Jerry, you got rooked, although you really shouldn't have taken that low of pay in the 1st place. You lowered the bar on yourself and the market. Now what's Sean Patrick gonna do when they come to him at review time and offer him $5,000 and a daily Slurpee at 7-11 next door?

I just can't believe that Northwood or any investment group with a lick of sense, would lend a single dime to anyone interested in buying a radio station. Not in Atlantic City - Cape May with all of those radio stations, and not in this day and age with all the changes happening in the medium. Someone didn't do their homework. I sure hope that Atlantic owns a lot of real estate . At least the investors can use the tower sites as collateral. I have never seen the Miller Kaplans from that market, but I can't believe that you have any one radio station that bills more than 3 million dollars per year. And with multiples of maybe 3x's cash flow, you are not left with a very sound investment. I would love to see the actuals. My guess is that The Millenium Group is the top biller in Jersey They probably bill close to 8 million with New Jersey 101.5, WFPG, a country station, and whatever else they own. Just a case of way too many radio stations for the population being served, and making matters worse, additional fragmentation casued by the influx of satellite and the new media. If I am not mistaken, Atlantic City-Cape May is Arbitron ranked and rated marekt # 141, with about 313,000 people, and just across the brink (about 50 miles as the gull flies in another overserved radio market) Salisbury-Ocean City MD/Rehobeth Beach DE #142, and close to 312,000 total population. What a business. Do good, be well and happy.

Porky Hooton..may be the best user name I have ever seen!!!

Ok, please do not shoot me for asking. But i have been reading the messages you guys post about Atlantic Broadcasting and the poor sales team. I know you blame it all oh John Caratchiolo (sp) and Vic Latino. So my question is, why not hire people to train the sales staff. I followed the link on this website for Advantage Systems Inc. this looks like a real powerful compnay that can deliver results?

Has anyone had this training? This guy's (Keith) quotes on this brouchure are powerful. I am curious to know if this would benefit a newbie like me?

You really dont want to work in that dump...you probably wont even get paid...but you might get that slurpy...if there is enough money in the till after jvc runs the company in the ground :(

I could probably do some voice tracks for kool 98point3 and the other stations in the building......if you can afford it after lawn maintenance............
