John & Ken are now the Defacto Governors of California

Whoa. Quite a compliment for radio talk show hosts. KFI must be grinning from ear to ear. Rush is the President of the US and John & Ken are the Governors of California? More stimulating talk radio!

Hahahahaha......I head this last night on the air!!!! John and Ken are freakin hilarious!!!!!

How much influence do they have outside of SoCal? Are they still syndicated anywhere else?
No. But with KFI's huge signal they can be heard throughout Southern California, have a sizeable San Diego following and are streamed online. You'll often see their name pop up in the San Francisco Chronicle or the Sacramento Bee.

WHO?

Lauren Conrad is more the defacto Governor of California than John and/or Ken.
Who? What is it? Certainly doesn't get a governor saying "Who is running this state John & Ken or Me" which is something the Governator said.

I know these boys from their days in NJ and Elmira. Likable enough fellows. Turn the reins of government over to J&K, "Governors for A Day." Great ratings don't equal good governance. They'd last about as long as Mancow did with his waterboarding escapade. As Mancow learned, there's a difference between "doing it" and "talking about it."

I wouldn't want J&K running the state, any more than I do the Governator. But they do make some great points on a regular basis, and use their big chrome mic to beat them 'til their bloody :D I love listening to them rant; I'm waiting for the day Ken busts a blood vessel and keels over on the air!

You mean....John. He's the crazy one. lol

Does this mean that outspoken conservative talk show hosts are no longer "just entertainers" but political machines?

If this keeps up, it's only going to a fuel to the arguement to bring back the fairness doctrine.

Careful about what you brag about. (Although...It was a Fox blog)

It means politicans are being outed for what they really are...political hacks who continually lie. That applies to both parties. Thank goodness for people like John & Ken who have the ability to point it out. They just happen to be entertaining as well.

Doug McIntyre, Al Rantel and Kevin James are doing the same thing. They just aren't from a personality radio background, such as John is.

That is a ridiculous assertion. Let's suppose these guys get a 2 share in the 25-54 demographic in the LA MSA. How many people is that? Very few. And to include the whole Golden State? That's like saying Rush Limbaugh is the POTUS because he's got a hot show that less 5 percent of the population listens to. Hard to believe the schlock some people really get suckered into.

Premiere Radio in mid-March at KFI's request after the Los Angeles Times published another of its famous mistake riddled hit piece articles, this time erroneously stating that Conservative Talkradio was on the wane, gathered together the actual amount of listeners that John & Ken reach. It's around 1.1 million a week http://patterico.com/2009/03/16/la-times-hit-piece-on-john-and-ken/
with KFI's huge Southern California area wide signal. That's more than the Los Angeles Times average daily and falling readership. Do you think the Los Angeles Times influences politics in Los Angeles and California?

Listeners to John & Ken are, for the most part, 1. Legal residents 2. Registered to vote. 3. Vote. John and Ken certainly can influence the politics of California and the region and proved to do so in the most recent election. Name one other talk show host that the Governator has specifically said "Who is running this state, John and Ken or me".

Now, you can all have fun reading this article I dug up from two months ago on Handel and John & Ken from a former disgruntled, yet conservative, KFI talk show host http://patterico.com/2009/04/02/exc...-la-times-article-on-conservative-talk-radio/
