Jon Stewart Says He’s ‘Working on Staying’ at The Daily Show

It is the bigger question, but one they can punt a bit if they value keeping Jon and the Daily Show. He may stick around for another contract cycle, but it’s not a stretch to say he is unlikely to be around all that much longer doing the show.

But is it 100 percent guaranteed that she will have no influence over other departments?

I think she needs to have at least one victory in her own department before they start handing over other parts of the company to her. She has no real experience running a broadcasting company. Clearly first priority is fixing Evening News. If she can do that, then who knows.

Maybe Ms. Bari should kill two birds with one stone and bring The Daily Show, complete with Jon as the sole host, over to CBS to replace the CBS Evening News. He'd sign a long-term agreement, so would the other "correspondents", and the news division would have an opinion-based news success. Of course the result would be anything but conservative, and the Monarch-in-Chief would be royally pissed (pun intended) , but Bari could chalk it up as a win and the audience numbers are likely to triple. For extra points they could retain some of the actual news correspondents and train them to deliver factual news reports with a comedically-skewed viewpoint. (Whatever that means. 🤣 )
