Josh Innes Show To Anchor Mornings At 105.9 The Rock Nashville

Nashville’s Classic Rock, announced today the debut of “The Josh Innes Show,” effective April 5. “The Josh Innes Show” will be a Nashville-focused blend of classic rock, news, sports and commentary and will broadcast weekday mornings from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. CST.

“Josh is wildly talented as a personality, idea generator and storyteller,” said Jonathan Shuford, Program Director for 105.9 The Rock. “He’s unconventional, creative and exceptionally compelling. We’re beyond excited to welcome him to Nashville and foster in the next great Classic Rock morning show!”

“I’m thrilled about this opportunity,” says Innes. “105.9 the Rock is an incredible brand and I look forward to helping take it to another level.”

Show starts on April 5th.

Kind of an interesting move here. Josh was (how shall I say) rather controversial as a sports talk host in Houston. He might be compared to Nashville's Clay Travis. They use the word "unfiltered" in describing his style. So he'll bring that background to iHeart's classic rock station. Buckle up, folks.

Why did John Boy & Billy get the boot? Did they say something on the air that didn't take well here?

Good question. The station is also one of the highest rated stations in Nashville. The Big Show has some die-hard fans.

From what I can see, John Boy & Billy have been gone from The Rock since June.

They've been running the Whip Show from WXDX in Pittsburgh. Josh starts next week.
