Actually, after listening, they appear to be using one of those services (like 106.1 The River), that features a national service with dj's cutting local breaks each hour that are fed in. Pretty sure it's Dial Global that offers these types of formats. (previously Waitt Radio). Sounds like they are using the localized version of Dial Global's Classic Hits service.
I'm not really a fan of these services. To me, they sound almost as awkward as the old 24/7 satellite fed formats. I'd prefer a locally automated/produced station, even if it was nothing more than a jockless jukebox with just sweepers.
Journal must've spent all their cash on 100.3. They cheaped out on this one. Maybe they'll have a local morning or afternoon show, hopefully. (also better, "real" production/sweepers would be nice).
