JT's Ship has Sunk at Fox Sports Radio!

JT never seems to joke around..... Looney doesn't seem very comfortable with fills in either

I agree, I have never heard JT laugh in my life.

And quite honestly about Looney, he doesn't seem very comfortable on the air at all. He is always talking over JT and any other hosts who fill in. Very odd that they let him even speak during the shows. Stick to the updates, dude.

wow. listening this week to a few segments was rough. i've not heard jt so uninspired nor distracted since the last days of sports fan radio. maybe the reality has set in or he's looking to get bought out.

regardless of your opinion of him (remember the realdeal9 days...), he always was energetic, passionate, biased and at least trying hard. now he seems burned out, bitter, distracted and lost .... a man caught between a real radio gig and the blogosphere/fan-centric world that he is too old to be a part of.

kind of a melancholy listen.

Ah, the mysterious disappearance of Czaban explained. Why don't they just come out and tell the freaking truth. The last day I heard him he sounded like he wasn't going anywhere.

How anyone can think JT is good radio is beyond me. He's surly, screams and no one wants to listen to that forced b/s in the middle of the night except crack addicts who are equally jacked up on something. It's no wonder he's buried at night; always was, always will be! Hey JT, radio listeners don't work for you, so it's not their "job" to call in with contrived and scripted calls. That stale crap is still on your hero Jim Rome's show and trying to bring that overnights is dismal. Hope you invested well. The end is near and you will finally see what many other talented people in radio are finding out. Big money gigs are over and you'll be begging for a job whenever your contract is over.

If he was that bad and nobody liked him, they'd have just fired him outright. The truth is that people DO listen to him, and I happen to like him for the most part. Bruno happens to be more popular, so of course he wound up in the primetime slot. Anyways, this is a SPORTS show and SPORTS fans tend to get worked up over their teams, just like JT does. What do you want, some monotone sports talking head that speaks in tired, used up sports cliches'? At least JT has enthusiasm like many fans do, and while sometimes he's a bit over the top, I'd rather have that than some boring sports talking head.

If you don't like him, that's cool- just don't listen to him. And by the way, I don't smoke crack.

I really like Chris Moore on FSR. Would love to see him replace JT. Highly intelligent personality. Quick witted. sharp as a tack. Perfect demeanor for an overnight radio show.

Mr East Bay. I agree there are some who listen to JT but the only reason they haven't fired him outright is because he has too much time and money left on his contract and Clear Channel is too cheap to eat that deal and have to pay someone else to replace him.

I would be willing to bet that this is JT's last big money deal and when-ever it's up, he'll either have to take a massive pay cut or just be shown the door like all of the other Fox guys before him. No one is paying advertising dollars for an over- night radio show these days.

Well, if all that's true, then I guess his days would be numbered...though I'm sure every contract has a performance clause. If his ratings were that bad, I'm sure they'd be able to get him out with little cost. Still, I do think he's OK and I enjoy listening to him most of the time. Everyone has their own tastes though, and its clear you're not a fan...fair enough. He's just one of those kind of guys that you either love or hate.

Well, I'll say one thing for JT. He is better than David Stein at SNR or Jason Smith at ESPN.
I guess David Stein has built a cult following and it sounds like a Cult. Jason Smith is the one I really don't get. He just meanders for hours on the radio. Its almost dead air. I wonder how and why he got that job. There is a place for a nationally syndicated Sports Talk show. You've got a lot of people that work overnight. People get tired of Coast-to-Coast

JT just announced that he will be moving to Las Vegas and doing his show from there full time in 2010. I guess he's already transitioning into his looming post-FSR career.

Sleep > Listening to any of those guys overnight.

Jason Smith's act is done, he is better were he was before with Mel Kiper on the weekend.

I wish Maller or Fricke was on that Brick time slot. Looney kills me with JT.

I am still highly outraged at that Czaban move, FSR can go away for all I care.

I went to sleep and missed his announcement. what is he doing in Vegas?

He was pretty vague about it. Beyond emphasizing that the show itself would only be enhanced by the move and the "exciting opportunities" that awaited him in Vegas, he said nothing. Oh yeah, Looney will continue to play the role of J.T.'s personal valet from the Sherman Oaks studios.

J.T. signed a new longterm contract at Fox. That must kill radiozilla and Leebo. He has been on the radio longer than any other guy in the history of Fox and now has a new opportunity in Las Vegas that includes much more than radio. His show is much better than most and that is why he continues to sign new contracts with Fox. You haters need to get a life and help some of your "out of work" hosts find a job.

Yeah, I heard about that. JT is going to be a restroom attendant handing out paper towels to customers and making sure there is toilet paper.
