Julie Grant will move to the new CourtTV in May

Reporter, part-time anchor and legal editor Julie Grant is leaving KDKA-TV for the May relaunch of Court TV.

According to AdWeek, Katz Networks has acquired the brand trademark, website and hours of original content originally owned by Turner Broadcasting.

The new 24-hour channel will include Ms. Grant, Seema Iyer and Vinnie Politan as anchors, with Chanley Painter as legal correspondent.

“I love Pittsburgh and KDKA,” she said. “It has been wonderful working at one of the best television stations in the country. Only a dream job like this could pull me away!”

Ms. Grant is a Steubenville native who joined KDKA in September 2016 and had been a news anchor in the Winston-Salem market for three years. She obtained her law degree from the University of Akron and was a former Allegheny County assistant district attorney.
