Julie Kahn jokes about Howie Carr's alleged "paper jail"

Check out this quote from today's Globe:

"I think I'll give him a ball and chain when he comes in, or a nice striped shirt," said Julie Kahn, vice president and marketing manager for WRKO's parent company, Entercom Boston. "It was a tough loss when he walked off, and we've been working really hard and are so pleased it's been resolved."

So when do you think Greater Media told him they weren't going to wait forever, and were going to bring back Imus instead?

what a boring article. Imus can come back after racially disparaging comments, Howie Carr can come back after racially disparaging comments and John dePetro is in Rhode Island after making disparaging comments about lesbians. So maybe there is better protections for gays than there are for Muslims and Blacks, at least on Boston radio...

On his show, Howie mentioned going to "jury duty" but he was actually talking about the various
legal meetings, etc. "Well at least I won't have to do that again for the next 5 years".
Note he said 5, meaning when his new contract ends...REAL "jury duty" in MA ensures you won't
be called again for a period of _3_ years.

Thank you for all that information on Howie, Raccoon, but you didn't tell us if he had Splenda or sugar with his coffee this morning?

He spent those weeks / uh getting plastered
Raccoon welcomes / the big fat B...ard...
Feinbore got /oh so much flack
couldn't save the sinking ship/with Nancy Shack

After all those donuts, etc., he needs a good long walk today. Pix of Howie and the first 15 min of his show,
in video form, are at the WRKO site. Do they have enough WRKO banners behind him? It's obvious:
they knew the likes of Ch 5 would be in there taping him and wanted people to get the call letters
and freq in. (Howie did the same thing when his show was simulcast on C-SPAN)
