Just heard Hot 107.9 just blew up its morning show

I don't have any real details. Anybody know anything about what happened to the A Team and why Radio One did this? Could it be PPM-related or simply "revenues are falling and we need to cut costs"? I spoke with Maria More and I know she's out, too.
 
It's going to be (Radio One's syndicated) Rickey Smiley for mornings, Rashan Ali from the A Team in middays, and Emperor Searcy back in afternoons.

Radio One is apparently cutting people in all their markets. According to my source, Radio One held a 4PM meeting in each market to announce the cuts. It looks like they also want Smiley on in more markets. He's been based out of Dallas, but I heard he's moving to Atlanta.
 
I haven't really listened to Ricky Smiley's show, but I've heard some of his prank phoners and stand-up comedy. He's hysterical. It will be interesting to see how it works out in this market.

The show is not funny. Radio One is a poorly managed company doomed to failure. Alfred Liggins is an embarassment to this industry.

:'(awww man, this was the best hip-hop morning show in ATL! V-103 and 95.5 THE BEAT in the mornings are so tacky! This is shocking news to me!!!!!! Still trying to take it in!

Yeah, they were still on Friday. Maybe Radio One will keep Rashan and Searcy on in the morning as a duo like Frank & Wanda(V103) and Murph & CJ (955 The Beat)???
 
I heard Renee Miller was released. Shame. I enjoyed her style.
