though I do listen to quite a bit of internet radio now. Radio Free Phoenix, Radio Paradise, KPIG, and KFOG's 10@10 are my faves.
Whooopeee

and I thought I was the only one! Yeh, RP is my favorite, KPIG is great, WOXY.com is back on too.
As far as NKOTB XMAS on KRTH, why not? They're playing nothing real old anymore anyway. Except maybe Nat King Cole's The Christmas Song.
I listen to WOXY too, though the sound quality is iffy. I like Radio Free Phoenix best overall, though they're all light years ahead of any terrestrial radio station that I've heard in my lifetime.
As for why K-Earth should NOT play New Kids, here's a few reasons:
1) New Kids is not an artist, and their music is not from a genre, that K-Earth would normally play. Why play them at Xmas?
2) All these Adult Contemporary Christmas songs are bumping out the favorites from Elvis and the Beach Boys.
Elvis and the Beach Boys ARE in the regular playlist, so why aren't they in the Christmas playlist?
3) New Kids are a polarizing group. Many people despise them. Can't say that so much for the regular roster of the Beatles, Stones, and Aretha Franklin, who enjoy broad popularity both from the public and from critics.
Last year's slogan, "Only the BEST Christmas oldies" - that said it all. You didn't have to sit through sappy shlock. They only played what an oldies fan would like. Now it's four or five Carpenters songs a day, four or five Mannheim Steamroller songs a day.... You can no longer leave it on in the background. When Barry Manilow comes on I HAVE to get up can change the station.
