K-Earth Responds: Elvis, Little St. Nick, Chipmunks, and Donde Esta are back!

Donde Esta Santa Claus is being played almost daily now.

The KOST music is still there, but reduced. Still playing three or four Carpenters and three or four Mannheim Steamroller songs a day, which is an absurd amount to devote to one artist, especially ones from a different format There is less Manilow and other MOR stuff, however. Down from about 60 percent to maybe 40 percent. Much more Phil Spector.

If you listen, whenever a real person requests a song, it's never a KOST song. It's always a classic. For instance, today Holly Jolly Xmas was "sent out" to a guy in Orange County. Hopefully K-Earth is figuring out what the audience wants by looking at the request logs.

Stations still keep request logs?!? I thought they didn't care what listeners wanted? God knows they've screwed up a thousand station formats by ignoring the listeners! :'(

I've noticed the CBS stations in general have a vastly more varied Christmas playlist than the CC stations (Examples; both the "lite" station in Dallas, and the oldies station in Boston have played "Merry Christmas" by The Waitresses, "Donde Esta", and "The 12 Pains of Christmas").
