KAET to be taken over by Walter Cronkite School of Journalism

Effective July 1, KAET moves from ASU's office of public affairs to the Cronkite School, making it the largest media organization in the world to be operated by a journalism school.

The move puts the Cronkite School in charge of KAET news and public affairs and also will mean an expanded (and likely on main channel!) edition of Cronkite NewsWatch — which, I suppose, could now be considered Phoenix's sixth (maybe fifth soon) English news operation. Cronkite already produces said newscast and a news service focusing on Arizona public policy with 30 subscribing institutions.
