kagz oldies 1440 Am now 80's music- Bollywood Music?

Alice Cooper, the singer: No. His solo career started after the end of the "oldies" era (1975 or thereabouts).

1. I thought the Oldies era ended about 1980.

2. Most people treat Oldies as a rolling era, not static. For the record, I think it should be 1955-1982. Anything newer than 1982 should never be played on the radio.....or anywhere.

Uh, isn't he:

1. Old.
2. A PHX resident
3. Almost a native (he came as a kid, right?)
4. ... even have a son at ASU?

That makes him a Phoenix "oldie" to me. ;)

You are correct on all four counts--although he mentioned something about his son earning some kind of a degree on his show the other night, so maybe he is no longer at ASU. Or maybe it was his daughter he spoke of--can't remember.
Speaking of which, I find it odd that no station in Mr. Cooper's home market carries his show. You all up there have to strain to pull in 96.1 KLPX to hear him.

...speaking of locals and tent city, remember Glen Campbell playing the Arpaio Arena and singing "...Tent City you're gentle on my mind.."?

"Full Bar"? You do know that Mr. Cooper has been sober for several decades now, don't you? Believe his beverage of choice is Diet Coke...

...and wasn't he submitted for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his role as himself in "Dark Shadows?"

(my search engine of choice...Bing...can't tell me if he was actually nominated or not....)

I have to go to Power Road these days or mid-Phoenix to pick up KLPX, now that we have an AM talk station at 96.1. (KLPX used to come in like a local in my car off 41st Avenue and Washington though.)

43 years of film and a show on the radio that is global...it is something how people can keep a career going, George Burns, Betty WHite and this kid Alice Cooper,, he even does car commercials.

Coming up on 50 years in music. "The Spiders" were arguably the hottest local Phoenix band in 1966-67. Then they went to El Lay, hooked up with Frank Zappa, and became the original Alice Cooper band.
