Karson and McKenzie this morning on Sweeney and Boston radio

Heard a good deal of a phone conversation between K&M and a listener this morning and thought it was handled well. The caller wasn't crazy about them and does have sat radio but he was also pretty civil and intelligent and sounded like a Sweeney fan. K&M pointed out it was all about the numbers and the caller agreed that even though he thought Sweeney did a better job than they do, if the audience wasn't there then keeping him on would have been a bad move. His numbers (like 11th in the market) were nothing compared to other WZLX dayparts according to the morning duo.

Then there were some comments about basically radio and other morning shows that suck. The only other calls I heard were JAMN but I thought it was interesting. The caller sounded informed in that even though he obviously is not crazy about them as compared to Sweeney,he does still flip back and forth from sat radio to ZLX. They made it clear they're not about to change their act and also that if the numbers aren't there then even a good show is going to get the boot.

K & M - what's the point? There are some great talents across America, maybe, someday, Boston radio will land some outside of syndication.

Why not put Randi Rhodes and Stephanie Miller on mornings at WZLX - their funny quips along with the music could be a winner - Jones Radio meets Air America.
