KAZH Houston going from Spanish to English on Sept. 27

Don't think I saw that one or never thought KAZH would ever air English/Independent programming. I say that's a good move on their part since there are plenty of stations in H-Town to cater to the Hispanic audience. Good to see they're giving Ch. 55 some competition as far as Independent programming.

So now that someone else has bought them, a new company, what will happen. I believe one of the founder's of this company, owns KDOC-TV Los Angeles, which tags itself as "Endless Classics". If that is what we have to look forward to, then GREAT. :) I personally see channel 51 eventually going spanish, they are on a death bed now......

:D Call me psychic

And here's the Houston Chronicle article about this:

http://blogs.chron.com/sportsmedia/2010/09/channel_57_switching_from_span.html

Channel 57 has been English in the past, with ValueVision home shopping, and a fulltime infomercial format. Spanish language programming began in 2002 with the launch of Azteca America on the station (the network was dropped a couple of years ago.)

The KAZH flip will soon be negated by KNWS/51, which will presumably become the new Azteca America outlet here, assuming the station's sale doesn't fall through.

While I would like for this to go well, history is not on their side. We've seen in Houston -- and other cities -- that stations can make more $$$ on infomercials than they can with classic TV. We'll see how long they go. Even with Retro TV and This TV on the air in Houston, plus KTBU airing some older stuff during the day, there's still some good stuff out there. Don't forget Channel 39 will be adding Antenna TV, Tribune's new classic TV net, soon, too.

Would certainly like to see RTV make an appearance at one of 57's subchannels. I just hope 57 doesn't turn into 51 and takes the path 55 did, actually investing some money into the programming.

I reckon Channel 57 would change their call letters to something that would not reflect the old "Azteca" format, too.

Or for that matter, KLEE-TV, KNUZ-TV, KVVV-TV or KDOG-TV, if they're available.

Wowwwww. And no "paid program" to be found (except overnights, I presume).

How long has it been since The Little Rascals and The Twilight Zone were on OTA in Houston?

That is a pretty nice lineup. Lots of stuff I remember watching in reruns on 20, 26 and 39 when I was growing up.

What's gonna happen to VasalloVision after KUBE-TV officially became an english-speaking TV station. and will it show up on one of it's sub channels?

Well, the schedule isn't as advertised. Only show actually shown since their startup was Saved by the Bell, everything else has been infomercials.
