I heard some Ellen Gamble last night. She had tons of long pauses, sounded like she was asleep and had the personality of a brick wall. I head Ed Crowe last week. It took him about 5 minutes to finally punch up a caller. He was breathing heavy and groaning. And he's been in radio before. Maybe age is getting the best of him. McIntire seems fine as he is typical KDKA, old as balls boring political talk.
The only good news is that they got rid of my favorite radio train wreck, Johnna Pro. Why won't KDKA give some college kids a crack on air? Someone with youth and some excitement in their voice would be great. Most of these hosts sound like they are half asleep and have to act interested in their own topics.
The only good host on KDKA, in my opinion, is Mike Pintek. He's the only one who has the balls to not talk politics 24/7 and he has some great features like "Ask the Judge" the first Wednesday of every month. Since Fred Honsberger died, the station has had no personality and no good production. Like Honzman's or not, you have to admit it. None of the hosts have an introduction and they all play the same lame bumper music. It makes me miss honzman's Beatle Bumper Fridays, the Honk off Line, Thank God It's Friday at the top of every hour Fridays, etc.
